Responsibilities: Direct and manage the Information Technology services for the entire company, including user support on all software and hardware, new technology assessment and implementation, maintenance of hardware and software and support of the company’s CRM package. Will have primary responsibility for managing AS400 and ERP system (JD Edwards), all computer and phone related equipment and accessories/software and the CRM contact system (WinCall) and will have secondary responsibility in coordination of the network services. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with KSI policies and applicable laws. Requires frequent travel to the corporate office in Lenexa, KS.
Minimum Requirements:
- College degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years in IS management position, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience with AS/400 operating systems and RPG programming
- Extensive experience with ERP software in a manufacturing environment; experience with JD Edwards is preferred
- Experience with a Microsoft 2003 server or later versions, particularly as integrated with an AS/400
- Background in managing data systems including reporting and data warehousing
- Background in supporting/hosting a company sponsored web site and leading e-commerce initiatives
- Experience managing phone, office equipment and other desktop services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Extensive knowledge in data base management
- Expert knowledge of both AS/400 operating environment and client server technology
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and projects and significant project management experience
- Good organizational and people skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team as a leader or key participant
Additional Information: Project Planning and Implementation
- Analyze and prioritize proposed projects
- Prepare or review justification for all IT related projects
- Prepare detail acquisition and implementation plans
- Provide direction and guidance in implementation of all IT projects
User Support
- Lead the end user support of all facets of the ERP System
- Maintain and upgrade the JDE and ancillary (bar code, labeling, etc) software
- Identify and implement new applications to enhance system effectiveness / company profitability
- Oversee all help desk activities at both locations and respond to escalated issues
Resource Allocation and Prioritization
- Allocate all IT personnel and equipment
- Maintain and support computer and office equipment
- Monitor and prioritize all approved projects
- Manage relationship with all IT suppliers
Staffing and Development
- Represent IT function
- Evaluate current IT team/organization and manage any necessary changes
- Manage and develop IT team
- Ensure proper training for IT employees
Budget Control
- Prepare annual capital and expenses budget for the department
- Review of company IT Capital Expenditures Budget
- Analyze needs and develop alternative solutions with operational management
Strategic Planning
- Lead IT strategic planning process
- Document final plan and report on progress
- Monitor all current technology and software trends for applicability
Policies and Procedures Documentation
- Review and update current policies and procedures documentation
- Document changes and new processes
