Frequently asked questions for the NXT, ION and ION Eclipse Digital Eyewitness Video systems.
EO2 Error Message
Occasionally an EO2 error message appears on my display. What should I check for?
- Check all cable connections on the interface box and the media drive assembly to insure they are connected/seated properly.
No Power
I try to turn on my video system, but the unit seems to have no power getting to it. What are the possible areas I should look at?
- Measure the voltage at the interface box power connection. It should be the same voltage as the car's battery voltage. If not, check the fuse at the car battery or the connections to the battery terminals.
- Press and hold the power button and have someone watch the red LED on the interface box. This red LED is located above the power connection on the front of the interface box (where all the cables connect). A rapid
flashing of the LED, indicates Low Voltage from the car's battery. Make sure the car is running while conducting this test.
- Check for proper jumper settings in the interface box. The unit could be setup to come on when the ignition is on. This will disable the power button.
Please consult the installation manual.
EO1 Error Message
I noticed that I had no video on screen and the display is showing an EO1 message. What does this mean?
- An EO1 message is the error message the video system will display when it doesn't see signals coming from the camera. Check to make sure
the camera cable is securely plugged into the camera and into the overhead console.
No Audio
I have no audio that can be heard or is recorded when I talk into the audio transmitter. What should I be checking?
- Are the lights on the docking station unit illuminated?
- Does the transmitter have lights illuminated?
- Check the on/off switch on the bottom of the transmitter to insure it is in the on position.
- If no lights appear on the transmitter, the transmitter should be charged. If you believe the transmitter has been charged and not holding this charge,
then the battery should be replaced.
- If the docking station does not have any lights illuminated, check all cable connections. Ensure that the audio cable is plugged into the audio port on
the interface box.
- Re-dock the transmitter into docking station to insure they are communicating with each other.
Will not activate record mode from wireless transmitter
I use the wireless audio transmitter to activate the system into the record mode. I do not receive a confirmation (vibrate) on the transmitter
that it has activated nor do I see the red LED on the camera illuminate. When I return to the vehicle the system is on but not in record? What did I do wrong?
- Need to insure that the transmitter is synchronized to the docking station. Re-synchronize the transmitter to the docking station.
- Insure the transmitter is charged.
- Insure that you are operating within the range of the systems capabilities.
- Check audio cable connection that plugs into side of docking station as well as connection on interface box.
